Our non-sanctioned hunts are for our members only – these fun hunts are a way for our members to get their dogs ready for the larger trials. We do different things for fun hunts so keep this website bookmarked to stay informed about upcoming fun hunts. It’s another way CTBC gives back to its members. We enjoy running with you! So sign up today by downloading the Membership App below , printing it out, and mailing it with your check made payable to CTBC! We would love to have you join us!
Sanctioned Trial Awards: CTBC offers trophies to 10th place in Opens (dogs that have never won before). Trophies to 5th place in Champs, and trophies to 2nd place in Grands. We also offer Bench 1st & 2nd in Open Males, Females and puppies with a Best in Show, and Best in Show for Champs and Grands.
CTBC holds Bench Show at each sanctioned trial (if we have at least 3 entries in a division) promoting correct conformation in field dogs (see BEAGLES page). Bench points count towards ARHA Hall of Fame.
Sanctioned Trial Fees: $20 per dog per trial to enter the field. $5 per dog per trial to enter the bench. The entry fees help us to pay for our rent, paying judges, raffle table items, newsletter mailings and more. Thank you for supporting our club!
CTBC offers food and drinks for purchase for breakfast and lunch at our sanctioned trials for your convenience. We charge a minimal fee to cover the cost of food, table service and condiments. You can also bring your own food. Plan on staying most of the day and don’t forget to bring water for your dogs. The clubhouse has kennels that you may use for free, however, we ask that you pick up any dog poop and clean any kennels that you use – dog poop can be tossed in the trees closest to the roads. Plan to park off on the side of the drive way as much as possible so we have room to stage our casts and keep them moving in and out during the day. If you need a place to stay overnight, see our OVERNIGHT page.
